Jakarta (ANTARA) - A total of 341 students from three schools in Jakarta and Bekasi participated in the ‘Palace for Schoolchildren’ activity at the Jakarta Presidential Palace complex on Thursday to gain direct insight into the government environment.

According to the official Instagram account of the Cabinet Secretariat, the participants were from SMA Dharma Putra Advent Bekasi, SMA Negeri 99 Jakarta, and BINUS School Simprug Jakarta.

The ‘Palace for Schoolchildren’ programme began with an introduction to the Ministry of State Secretariat and the Cabinet Secretariat as institutions that support the administration of the government.

Following this, the students toured the Jakarta Presidential Palace area to observe firsthand the environment that serves as the site for state activities. Upon arriving at the Palace complex, the students toured and explored several areas within the Presidential Palace grounds.

The students also had the opportunity to capture moments together at various locations, including Merdeka Palace, the Presidential Office, and the State Palace.

Through this visit, students were able to gain an overview of the roles of state institutions and the nature of Indonesian government life.

The ‘Palace for Schoolchildren’ activity serves as an out-of-classroom learning tool for students to familiarise themselves with the institutions and spaces that form part of Indonesia’s governmental journey.

It is hoped that this experience will broaden the students’ horizons and foster curiosity regarding national and state life.
