BANDUNG — The Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kemenag) in West Java is collaborating with mosque management boards (DKM) and the police to prepare 341 friendly mosques to welcome travellers during the 2026 Eid holiday season’s outbound and return traffic periods. Various facilities at these mosques will be available for mudik travellers to utilise.

The Head of Kemenag West Java, Dudu Rohman, stated that 341 mosques have been prepared to serve as friendly rest posts for travellers. He said the initiative involves cooperation with the police, military (TNI), the National Zakat Agency (Baznas), and community organisations (ormas).

“These mosques are not only places for rest, but are also associated with several programmes that will make mosques more welcoming to travellers,” he said on Monday (9 March 2026).

He outlined the available facilities for travellers, including free meals, complimentary health check-ups, and workshops set up by police personnel for vehicle repairs, as well as massage services for exhausted travellers.

“For those observing the Ramadan fast, we are providing free meals for breaking the fast,” he said.

Rohman urged travellers to conduct thorough preparations before beginning their journey, including checking their health status and verifying their vehicle and engine conditions. He noted that the friendly mosque facilities will be available to the public during both the outbound and return traffic periods of the 1447 Hijri Eid holiday.

“Please feel free to rest at the mosques or the rest posts we have prepared. We have also provided comprehensive facilities,” he said.
