340,000 Vehicles Expected to Use Toll Road During Two-Week Operational Period
Jakarta — Approximately 340,000 vehicles are expected to traverse the toll road being operated functionally over a two-week period during the 2026 Lebaran exodus.
The Prambanan-Purwomartani toll road will operate functionally from 16 March 2026 to 29 March 2026, from 06:00 to 18:00 Western Indonesia Time.
The estimate is based on projections of daily vehicle volumes expected to pass through the road section.
Ahmad Izzi, Senior General Expert in Public Relations and Administration at Jasa Marga Jogja-Solo, stated that the average projected vehicle flow is approximately 17,000 units per day. He made this statement during the Lebaran exodus monitoring activity for West Java, Central Java, and the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY) in Yogyakarta on Friday, 13 March 2026.
“This is actually around 17,000 vehicles per day. If you multiply that by two weeks, it comes to that figure,” Izzi said.
The functional operation of the toll road is expected to help alleviate traffic congestion on main routes during the Lebaran exodus period.
Jasa Marga Jogja-Solo is preparing additional operational facilities to anticipate vehicle congestion on the Prambanan-Purwomartani toll road during the Lebaran exodus. A number of officers and transaction devices have been prepared with capacity up to double the usual level to ensure smooth service at toll gates.
According to Izzi, this measure is being taken to anticipate the increase in vehicle volume on the toll road.
“Our anticipation, as I mentioned earlier, is that we are preparing double operational staff,” Izzi said.
In addition to increasing staff, Jasa Marga is also preparing supplementary transaction systems in the form of mobile transaction readers to enhance service capacity.
According to Izzi, the use of mobile readers will be implemented if traffic conditions require additional handling to ensure smooth vehicle transaction processing.
He explained that the operation of the functional toll road is situational in nature and can change according to conditions on the ground and police discretion.
