340,000 People Use Trains During Easter Long Holiday
Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Daerah Operasi (Daop) 1 Jakarta recorded 340,496 people using long-distance train services during the Easter long holiday period from 2-6 April 2026.
“Of this total, 148,421 customers departed and 192,075 customers arrived in the Daop 1 Jakarta region,” said Manager of Public Relations for KAI Jakarta, Franoto Wibowo, in Jakarta on Monday.
Regarding operational performance during that period, from 1-5 April 2026, the on-time performance (OTP) for departures reached 99.7 per cent, while OTP for arrivals was 93.3 per cent.
In addition, a total of 335 long-distance train trips departed and 335 arrived.
Franoto stated that the highest departure volume occurred on 2 April 2026 with 37,309 passengers, followed by 3 April with 34,730 passengers.
Meanwhile, the highest arrival volume was recorded on 5 April with 44,542 passengers, remaining high on 6 April with 39,574 passengers.
In terms of arrival stations, Pasar Senen recorded the highest number at 74,263 passengers, followed by Gambir with 51,426 passengers, Bekasi with 27,524 passengers, and Jatinegara with 21,886 passengers.
Several cities, including Yogyakarta, Surabaya, Semarang, Purwokerto, Bandung, and Jember, remained top choices for customers, both for holiday purposes and family visits.
For local train services, KAI Daop 1 Jakarta also recorded positive performance. The Pangrango train served 18,811 passengers from a capacity of 18,400 seats, while the Siliwangi train served 8,597 passengers from a capacity of 9,540 seats.
“KAI continues to innovate and improve service quality to meet the increasingly dynamic mobility needs of the public. We also urge customers to plan their journeys well and arrive early at the station to ensure a comfortable and smooth trip,” Franoto explained.
