As many as 34 tourist motorcycle service providers in the Mount Rinjani area, East Lombok, have begun offering cashless transactions using QRIS Cross Border from Bank NTB Syariah. This step is taken to expand the digital payment ecosystem in West Nusa Tenggara’s (NTB) flagship tourism destination.

Sub Branch Manager of Bank NTB Syariah KCP Pringgabaya, Andrian Syafrial Huda, stated that the implementation of QRIS represents Bank NTB Syariah’s commitment to providing practical and easily accessible digital transaction services.

According to Andrian, tourists no longer need to rely on cash payments as transactions can now be completed simply by scanning the QRIS code.

“This initiative is also a tangible response to the successful implementation of Bank NTB Syariah’s QRIS Cross Border, which has successfully received international transactions from several countries such as Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, South Korea, and China,” said Andrian in his statement on Tuesday (12/5/2026).

He explained that these countries are the main sources of foreign tourists who visit and climb Mount Rinjani. Therefore, strengthening the digital payment system in the tourism area is considered important to support NTB’s tourism sector, which is increasingly developing on a global scale.

“We want to ensure that local tourism actors can also benefit from digital transformation. The presence of QRIS in the Rinjani area is not only easing transactions for tourists but also part of strengthening a digital and inclusive community economy,” he said.

He added that the success of QRIS Cross Border proves that Bank NTB Syariah is capable of providing payment services on par with other national banks.

“This is a tangible form of the spirit of boundless innovation and from local to global. Regional banks like Bank NTB Syariah can now offer payment systems that can be easily, safely, and comfortably used by foreign tourists in NTB’s flagship tourism destinations,” he added.

Through the strengthening of this digital payment ecosystem, Bank NTB Syariah will support the acceleration of digitalisation in the tourism sector and increase tourist comfort. In addition, Bank NTB Syariah encourages local economic growth in the communities around Gunung Rinjani National Park.

“We will continue to expand the implementation of QRIS in various strategic sectors as part of an inclusive, safe, and sustainable digital service transformation,” Andrian emphasised.
