The Ministry of Defence concluded the national defence training for participants of the Indonesia Development Driver Bachelor (SPPI) programme—candidates for managers of village/sub-district cooperatives and Red and White fishing villages—on Friday, 31 July 2026. The Secretary General of the Ministry of Defence, Lieutenant General Tri Budi Utomo, stated that a total of 33,785 participants were declared to have passed the training.

According to him, all participants will return to their respective regions before undergoing the summoning and placement process. “They are ready to be deployed and work in cooperatives and fishing villages scattered throughout Indonesia,” said Tri during the closing ceremony of the 2026 SPPI education and training.

The training series commenced on 17 June 2026 and lasted for 45 days, consisting of 30 days of national defence training and 15 days of managerial training.

The programme was originally allocated for 35,476 participants, comprising 30,000 prospective village cooperative managers and 5,476 prospective fishing village managers. However, 1,691 participants did not complete the full training series due to various reasons.

Of those who attended the training, 61 individuals were declared to have failed due to health issues or resignation. Consequently, the number of participants declared to have passed and who will be placed as managers totals 33,785, consisting of 28,626 prospective cooperative managers and 5,159 prospective fishing village managers.

Tri stated that these participants will be distributed to thousands of village cooperatives and fishing villages established across Indonesia. The placement process will be conducted through summons by the central committee and coordinated alongside the State-Owned Enterprise (BUMN) Regulatory Body. “They will subsequently be assigned for approximately two years,” he added.
