Governor of DKI Jakarta, Pramono Anung, has assured that the work from home (WFH) scheme for civil servants (ASN) within the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government will be implemented flexibly, particularly for administrative work.

“Since there is no range from the centre, we will regulate it ourselves, between a minimum of 25 percent to a maximum of 50 percent of ASN undertaking work from home,” said Pramono at the DKI Jakarta City Hall on Wednesday (1/4).

He emphasised that this policy is a follow-up to the central government’s instructions, which do not specify detailed percentage limits. With this leeway, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has chosen to design a scheme deemed most adaptive to the needs of public services in the Capital.

He explained that the technical arrangements for implementing WFH will be prepared by the Regional Secretary together with the DKI Jakarta Regional Personnel Agency (BKD). Subsequently, those provisions will be enshrined in a governor’s decree as the binding legal umbrella in the field.

According to him, this flexibility is important to avoid disrupting the performance of public services, which must continue to operate optimally, while providing room for work efficiency for ASN.

“Administrative roles can be more flexible, but public services must remain maintained,” he said.

For information, based on data from the DKI Jakarta Regional Personnel Agency (BKD), the number of ASN employees is 67,554, including PPPK (Government Employees with Work Agreements). Thus, if implemented, 33,000 employees will work from home. (H-3)
