329 Uninhabitable Houses in South Tangerang to be Renovated This Year, Budget Rp 75 Million per Unit

South Tangerang City Government targets renovating 329 uninhabitable houses (RTLH) in 2026 through the public uninhabitable housing renovation programme (RUTLH).

South Tangerang Mayor Benyamin Davnie stated that each renovated house unit will receive a budget of Rp 75 million per unit.

“This year, we plan to renovate 329 house units across South Tangerang based on applications, a priority system, and the scale of house habitability. Initially Rp 71 million, it has now increased to Rp 75 million per unit,” Benyamin said in a written statement on Friday (8/5/2026).

However, in line with the budget allocation, the city will only renovate 329 units at Rp 75 million each.

From this budget, the renovated houses will be equipped with two bedrooms, a living room, electricity facilities, ceramic flooring, and a water pump.

“The construction process for one house unit is estimated to take about one month, including the demolition of the old building which takes around one week,” he said.

Regarding applications for the house renovation programme, he continued, they are submitted through RT heads and sub-districts before verification by the South Tangerang City Department of Public Housing, Settlement Areas, and Land (Disperkimta).

“We do not consider aspects other than habitability and health, as well as the economic status of the relevant family,” Benyamin explained.

“For uninhabitable houses, there are criteria, such as sanitation and construction that endanger the safety of the occupants,” said Robby.

In addition, he stated, land ownership status is also a primary requirement for programme aid recipients.

“Do not build a house only to find out the land belongs to someone else or is an illegal structure,” he explained.

Up to 2026, the South Tangerang City Government has recorded renovating around 2,800 houses through the RUTLH renovation programme in various areas of South Tangerang.
