321 Foreign Nationals Arrested in Connection with Online Gambling in Hayam Wuruk, Visa Status "Overstay"
Jakarta - Bareskrim Polri has arrested 321 foreign nationals operating an international online gambling website network in the Hayam Wuruk area, West Jakarta.
Secretary of the NCB Interpol Indonesia in the Polri International Relations Division, Brigjen Pol Untung Widyatmoko, revealed that the visa status of these foreign nationals had expired or was overstayed.
“The individuals in question are overstayers. They have committed immigration crimes,” said Untung during a press conference at the raid location in the Hayam Wuruk area, South Jakarta, on Saturday (9/5/2026).
He stated that the foreign nationals entered Indonesia about two months before the raid.
Therefore, their visa status had expired.
“For visa-free entry, BVS, immigration only allows a person with a tourist visa for 30 days,” said Untung.
Previously reported, Bareskrim Polri arrested 321 foreign nationals suspected of running 75 online gambling sites from an office on Hayam Wuruk Street, Jakarta, on Thursday (7/5/2026).
There were 57 people from China, 228 from Vietnam, 11 from Laos, 13 from Myanmar, 3 from Malaysia, 5 from Thailand, and 3 from Cambodia.
During the raid, investigators seized several pieces of evidence, including safes, passports, mobile phones, laptops, personal computers, and cash in several foreign currencies.
The seized cash amounted to at least Rp 1.9 billion, 53,820,000 Vietnamese dong, and 10,210 US dollars.
These suspects are threatened with Articles 426 and/or 607 in conjunction with Article 20 and/or Article 21 of Law No. 1 of 2023 on the Criminal Code and/or Law No. 1 of 2026 on Criminal Adjustment.
