320 Foreign Nationals Arrested in Connection with Online Gambling, Immigration Minister Suspects Forgery: We Will Prosecute Visa Sponsors
Indonesia’s Minister of Immigration and Correctional Services (Imipas), Komjen Agus Andrianto, has spotlighted the case of an international online gambling (judol) network in the Hayam Wuruk office district, Jakarta. Agus believes there was misuse of visas by foreign nationals (WNA) in that case.
A total of 320 foreign nationals and 1 Indonesian national were caught in the arrests by the National Police’s Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim Polri) in the case. Agus suspects that the sponsors of these foreign nationals forged the immigration processing.
“Misusing visa-free entry for work, the sponsors could forge immigration,” said Agus to Republika on Monday (11/5/2026).
Agus has not yet confirmed whether the arrested foreign nationals will be punished in Indonesia or repatriated to their home countries. Agus has only confirmed that the sponsors of the foreign nationals will be prosecuted.
“The results of the Bareskrim investigation and our coordination later, for the sponsors (of the WNA visas) we will prosecute,” said Agus.
Agus assured that the tracing of these sponsors is being carried out by Immigration and the police. “For technical matters to Mr Dirjen (Immigration). Coordination with Mr Kabareskrim as well,” said Agus.
