32 arrested in drug raid

BANDUNG: As many as 32 people, including two military
officials and six foreigners, were arrested during drug raids in
several nightspots on Sunday, police said on Monday.

Chief of West Java Police detectives, Col. Soejono told
reporters that all the people detained were found with contraband
in their pockets.

"The military officials were identified only as Capt. D, 43,
and First Lieutenant AH, 33. They were intensively interrogated,"
Soejono said, adding that urine tests for the suspects were
planned.

"We pledge to continue such busts in a bid to make Bandung
free from narcotics, especially before the holy Ramadhan (fasting
month) and Christmas," he sail. (43/sur)
