31st National MTQ in Central Java Celebrated with Dugderan Nostalgia Cultural Carnival

The 31st National MTQ (Musabaqah Tilawatil Quran) in Central Java was enlivened by the Dugderan Nostalgia Cultural Carnival held at the Aloon-Aloon of the Great Kauman Mosque, Semarang, Central Java. The event featured numerous participants dressed in traditional Semarang bridal costumes.

The Semarang City Government organised this carnival, themed around cultural acculturation, involving hundreds of participants from various community elements, students, and art enthusiasts. The initiative serves to celebrate the 31st National MTQ in Central Java while simultaneously preserving and introducing Semarang’s unique cultural traditions to the younger generation and promoting increased tourist visits.

The festivities also included various cultural performances, such as lion dances, as part of the large-scale parade held in the heart of the city.
