31 West Lombok Honourees Spared Dismissal Still Unpaid for Six Months

A total of 31 honouree workers whose dismissal by the West Lombok Regency Government (Pemkab) was cancelled have not received their salaries for six months. They claim they have not been paid since January 2026 because their Civil Service Identification Numbers (NIP) have not been issued. One honouree teacher at SDN 1 Keru, Mira Budi Artika, said she and 30 other honourees have not received a single rupiah in wages. According to her, the situation arose because their appointment as Part-Time Government Employees with Work Agreements (PPPK Paruh Waktu) was cancelled, leaving them without an NIP. “There is no basic salary, no salary from the regional government. How can we be paid without an NIP?” Mira said on Thursday (9/7/2026). Mira explained that although the West Lombok Regency Government cancelled the plan to dismiss them and offered solutions through salary schemes funded by School Operational Assistance (BOS) or outsourcing, these options did not provide certainty regarding their employment status. She stated that the main issue is not merely the salary, but the certainty of the NIP issuance, which will determine the continuation of their profession as honouree workers. “We teachers, along with our colleagues who are health workers, are also demanding this certainty. I have been teaching for 11 years, and some have even been teaching for 20 years. We all have families,” she said. Mira also doubted that the BOS-funded salary scheme could be applied to teachers who already hold an Educator Certificate (Serdik) but lack an NIP. “Regarding the BOS funds, especially for us certified teachers, we cannot be financed with BOS funds because we do not have an NIP,” she stated. Mira revealed that since February 2026, she and the 30 other honourees have sought certainty from the Regional Personnel and Human Resources Development Agency (BKDPSDM) and West Lombok Regent Lalu Ahmad Zaini. A request for an audience was even submitted, but the letter was reportedly never acknowledged. Mira expressed bewilderment at her fate, having completed all stages of the Part-Time PPPK selection and been declared successful by the central government. “So we are not asking for a salary; we are asking for certainty about our NIP. Because we have passed, the central announcement said we passed the PPPK PW test, but why has our NIP not been issued?” she said. Meanwhile, Deputy Chairman of Commission I of the West Lombok Regional House of Representatives (DPRD), Hendra, said he had attempted to summon the BKDPSDM to discuss the issue, but communication has yet to be established. “We have been trying since February regarding this polemic. But the BKDPSDM has never communicated with us. Actually, if there had been communication since February, there might still be many steps we could have taken,” he said. Hendra expressed regret if the 31 honourees ultimately lose their jobs due to the non-issuance of the NIP. He noted that some of them have served for decades within the West Lombok Regency Government. “So their sacrifice and dedication, some for 20 years, would be a great shame if their NIPs are not issued,” concluded the National Awakening Party (PKB) politician. Previously, the West Lombok Regency Government dismissed 31 honouree workers who had been proposed to become Part-Time PPPK. The cause was that the participants’ data did not match the National Civil Service Agency (BKN) database, preventing their NIPs from being issued. West Lombok Regent Lalu Ahmad Zaini said the problem stemmed from a data entry error during the PPPK submission process about four months ago. “The total is 31 people whose NIPs cannot be issued and there is no other way. Because of that, they must stop. The problem lies in the incorrect data during the initial input,” said the Regent on Tuesday (9/6/2026).
