31 Honourary Staff in West Lombok Avoid Dismissal Through Outsourcing and BOS Schemes

The West Lombok Regency Government has confirmed that 31 honourary workers who were previously dismissed will be able to continue their employment. The administration cancelled the policy to lay off the dozens of honourary staff after preparing a number of solutions. “A scheme has been prepared. The regional government had no intention of carrying out unilateral cancellations or abandonment; it was purely hindered by restrictions from the national-level data locking system,” explained Assistant 3 of the West Lombok Regional Secretariat, Fauzan Husniadi, on Thursday (25/6/2026). Fauzan explained that the West Lombok Personnel and Human Resources Development Agency (BKDPSDM) had coordinated with the regional apparatus organisations (OPD) where the 31 non-ASN workers were employed to formulate strategic steps. He detailed that technical staff would be accommodated through an outsourcing mechanism. Meanwhile, teaching staff would continue to be empowered through the School Operational Assistance (BOS) funding scheme. Health workers and technical staff in the health sector will be transferred to become employees of the Regional Public Service Body (BLUD). “We continue to look for solutions. We have discussed this scheme with the relevant OPDs,” Fauzan said. Fauzan assured that the prepared scheme does not conflict with central government provisions regarding the arrangement of non-ASN workers. He stated that all options had been reviewed with reference to the prevailing laws and regulations. “We have reviewed it,” he concluded. Previously, the West Lombok Regency Government had dismissed 31 honourary workers who had been proposed to become part-time Government Employees with Work Agreements (PPPK). The cause was that the participants’ data did not match the database of the National Civil Service Agency (BKN), so their Employee Identification Numbers (NIP) could not be issued. West Lombok Regent Lalu Ahmad Zaini (LAZ) said the problem stemmed from data input errors during the PPPK application process around four months ago. “A total of 31 people could not have their NIPs issued, and there was no other way. Because of that, they had to stop. The problem lies in the incorrect data during the initial input,” said West Lombok Regent Lalu Ahmad Zaini (LAZ) on Tuesday (9/6/2026). According to LAZ, the participant data stored in the system did not match the original documents they held. As a result, during the verification process, the participants did not meet the requirements based on the data recorded in the database. He gave an example of a participant who only had a high school diploma but was recorded in the system as a D3 graduate. There was also a participant recorded as having a bachelor’s degree, even though they only held a D3 diploma. Meanwhile, the West Lombok Regional People’s Representative Council (DPRD) had asked Regent Lalu Ahmad Zaini to find a solution to save the 31 dismissed honourary workers. The honourary staff were deemed worthy of being saved, considering that some of them had served the West Lombok Regency Government for quite a long time. “We urge and hope that the Regent has a solution. There must be a solution, after all, some of them have served for a long time,” said the Chairman of Commission IV of the West Lombok DPRD, Muhali, on Monday (15/6/2026).
