30kg Rice Food Assistance Begins Distribution in East Java, Starting with Kediri
The government continues to accelerate the distribution of Rice Food Assistance in East Java to ensure its benefits are immediately felt by the community, starting with Kediri Regency, East Java.
“We want to ensure that this food assistance truly reaches the people. For the July, August, and September allocation, recipients receive 10 kilograms of rice each month, or 30 kilograms at once for the three-month period,” said Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs, Zulkifli Hasan, in Kediri on Thursday (10/9).
According to the Coordinating Minister for Food, for the July–September 2026 allocation of Rice Food Assistance in Kediri Regency, the government has prepared assistance for 251,412 Food Assistance Recipients (PBP), with a total of 7,542,360 kilograms, or 7,542 tonnes of rice.
The distribution in Kediri is part of the Rice Food Assistance programme in East Java, which has an allocation for 5,690,353 recipients with a total of 170,710,590 kilograms, or 170,000 tonnes of rice. In the Ngasem District, assistance is provided to 6,404 recipients with a total of 192,120 kilograms, including 400 recipients in Gogorante Village with a total of 12,000 kilograms, or 12 tonnes of rice.
The Coordinating Minister for Food explained that the government has also prepared the continuation of the Rice Food Assistance programme for the next period, namely October–December 2026.
Furthermore, the government continues to strengthen national food readiness in facing the potential impacts of the dry season by increasing the distribution of SPHP rice by 1 million tonnes.
“The government is giving full attention to the people in need. We continue to ensure that food stocks are available and various assistance programmes are running so that the community maintains good access to food,” he added.
On the same occasion, the President Director of Perum BULOG, Ahmad Rizal Ramdhani, emphasised that BULOG is ready to carry out the government’s mandate in supporting the smooth distribution of Rice Food Assistance across all regions of Indonesia.
“BULOG ensures the readiness of stocks and that the distribution of food assistance runs well. From the warehouse to being received by the beneficiaries, we oversee the entire process to ensure this assistance is on target, in the correct amount, and on time,” said Rizal.
Rizal added that the support of BULOG’s operational network, which is spread throughout Indonesia, is a strength in ensuring the government’s programme runs optimally.
“Today we are together witnessing the direct distribution of Rice Food Assistance in Kediri. This is a concrete form of synergy between the government and BULOG to provide food for the community. We will continue to maintain stock availability and strengthen distribution so that the food needs of the community remain met,” explained Rizal.
