30 top executives to attend WEF meeting

JAKARTA (JP): The government and 30 leading Indonesian executives and entrepreneurs are scheduled to attend the World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting in Davos, Switzerland, to promote Indonesia and attract foreign investment.

State Minister of Investment Sanyoto Sastrowardoyo said yesterday that, during the WEF meeting, the Indonesian delegation would meet 20 heads of states and ministers from 100 countries.

The six-day forum is scheduled to start on Jan. 28.

Sanyoto said the delegation would include Siti Hediati Prabowo of PT Maharani Paramita, Hasyim S. Djojohadikusumo of PT Semen Cibinong, Haroen Al Rasjid of PT Caltex Pacific Indonesia, Tomy Winata of PT Artha Graha Central, Al Nyoo of PT Tirtamas Majutama and Slamet Gondokusumo of PSP Intiutama.

Sanyoto said the government would make several presentations at the WEF meeting. These include a presentation on Indonesia's economic policies for globalization by Coordinating Minister for Production and Distribution Hartarto; Indonesia's policies on international relations by Minister of Foreign Affairs Ali Alatas; and Indonesia's human resources development by Minister of Education and Culture Wardiman Djojonegoro.

Indonesia plans to set up a food stand and cultural exhibitions during the forum. (pwn)
