PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk is encouraging return travellers to take advantage of the toll fee discount during the Eid al-Fitr 2026 return flow. This policy is prepared to dampen the potential surge in vehicles at the peak of the return flow.

Jasa Marga President Director Rivan Achmad Purwantono stated that a 30 percent toll fee discount will apply on 26-27 March 2026. The peak return flow is projected to occur on 24 March 2026 based on calculations by the joint team.

“To that end, on 26 and 27 March, a 30 percent toll fee discount will be implemented. We urge the public to utilise it by arranging travel times and paying attention to traffic density conditions so that the journey remains comfortable and safe until reaching the destination,” said Rivan on Friday (20/3/2026).

Rivan explained that until 06.00 WIB, around 1.6 million vehicles or 48 percent of the total projection of 3.5 million vehicles have left Jakarta. The vehicle flow is still dominated towards Trans-Java with a portion of more than 54 percent.

On the peak outbound flow on 18 March, the number of vehicles exiting from four toll gates reached 270,315 units. This surge forms the basis for the intensive implementation of traffic engineering during the Eid period.

National Police Traffic Corps Chief Inspector General Pol Agus Suryonugroho stated that traffic engineering during the outbound flow has been effective. Adjustments were made by expanding contraflow to three lanes on several toll road sections.

“The outbound flow is quite controlled. This year is different because there is an increase of around 4.62 percent, from 258 thousand to around 270 thousand vehicles,” said Agus.

Director General of Land Transportation Aan Suhanan stated that the government is preparing a travel arrangement scheme to face the return flow. Spreading travel times outside the peak is considered important to reduce density.

“Please return on 25, 26, 27 until 29 March so that the peak flow can be dispersed,” said Aan.

Jasa Marga ensures that operational services continue to run during the return flow. Real-time traffic information is provided to help travellers determine travel times.
