30 Percent Discount, PELNI Optimistic Lebaran 2026 Ferry Tickets Will Sell Out
Tri Andayani, President Director of PT Pelayaran Nasional Indonesia (Persero), or PELNI, is optimistic that PELNI’s fare stimulus programme for Lebaran 2026 will be fully booked. She stated that the 30 per cent discount on PELNI ferry fares applies for departures from 11 March to 5 April 2026.
‘If last year the discount was 20 per cent and only on certain routes. For Lebaran this year, the discount has been increased by the government to 30 per cent and applies to all routes on our ships,’ Tri said at the Lebaran Transport press conference for PELNI at Hotel Vertu Harmoni, Jakarta, on Wednesday, 4 March 2026.
She noted that the government has allocated a budget of Rp 42.3 billion, equivalent to 445,534 passengers, for the transport tariff stimulus for Lebaran 2026. She said provisional sales stood at around 135,000 people, with a total budget absorption of Rp 12.8 billion, or 30.38 per cent of the target.
‘We see the trend remains the same as last year; when THR arrives, people will buy tickets immediately,’ she said.
In addition to regular services, PELNI is also launching a free mudik programme in collaboration with several state-owned enterprises. She stated that PELNI, together with a number of state-owned enterprises, provides a total of 2,757 free mudik tickets.
‘The programme includes 1,000 tickets from PELNI, 1,050 from PLN, 250 from Persero Batam, 256 from Pegadaian, and Telkomsel with 200 tickets,’ she continued.
To facilitate the public, PELNI offers a range of ticket purchase channels with broad coverage. Digital channels and payment partners have been expanded to make access easier for the public.
‘This effort aims to improve ease of access to information, increase transparency of schedules, and enhance the ease of purchasing tickets,’ she said.
