30 Per Cent Toll Tariff Discount During Lebaran Exodus from Day-9: Complete List of Routes
The Indonesian government, through the Ministry of Public Works (PU), has officially announced a policy of 30 per cent toll tariff discounts to support smooth traffic flow during the 2026 Lebaran exodus. This policy forms part of an economic stimulus package designed to ease the transportation cost burden on citizens, with approximately 143.91 million people expected to travel this year.
Unlike the previous year, which offered only a 20 per cent reduction, the 2026 Lebaran discount has been increased to 30 per cent. This policy applies to all toll routes managed by toll road operators (BUJT) including Jasa Marga, Hutama Karya, and others.
In addition to the price reduction, the government has also activated several newly functional toll routes that can be accessed free of charge by travellers. These routes have been strategically opened to distribute traffic and reduce congestion at main toll gates.
To maximise the benefits of the toll tariff discount, travellers are advised to undertake their journeys outside peak hours. The Transport Minister predicts the peak exodus period will occur on 18 March 2026. By travelling earlier during the day-9 period, travellers can not only obtain the 30 per cent discount but also avoid severe congestion at major toll gates such as Cikampek Utama (Cikatama) and Kalikangkung.
The discount is automatically deducted from account balance when tapping at the exit gate. However, if the balance is insufficient, the transaction will be blocked and may cause queuing delays. Travellers should ensure their electronic payment card contains at least the estimated standard tariff amount.
The operation of functional toll routes is subject to police discretion and road lighting conditions. Typically, functional toll routes operate only from 06:00 to 17:00 WIB for driver safety.
Before beginning their journey, travellers should ensure their vehicles are in prime condition and their electronic payment card balance is adequate.
