30 Firefighters Deployed to Search for Drowning Victim at Sunter Lake, North Jakarta

A resident has been reported drowned at Sunter Lake, North Jakarta, yesterday afternoon. Dozens of firefighting personnel were deployed to the location to conduct a search operation.

North Jakarta Fire and Rescue Agency Head Gatot Sulaeman said his office received the report of the drowning yesterday afternoon. The search process commenced this morning.

"The evacuation began at 08:41 Western Indonesian Time," Gatot told reporters on Wednesday (18 February 2026).

Gatot explained that a total of 30 personnel were mobilised for the search operation. The effort was bolstered by the use of two rubber boats.

"Four units deployed, 30 personnel, two rubber boats," Gatot said.

As of the time of reporting, the search operation was still underway.
