30,453 Customers Take Advantage of 30% School Holiday Discount

PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Daerah Operasi 8 Surabaya has recorded high customer uptake of its school holiday discount programme, with 30,453 tickets booked so far. Manager Humas KAI Daop 8 Surabaya, Mahendro Trang Bawono, stated in Surabaya on Sunday (14/6) that the 30% discount programme has been very well received by the public. To date, 30,453 customers have made ticket reservations at the discounted rate for travel during the school holiday period. “This programme is expected to provide easier access to more affordable transportation while supporting increased public mobility,” he said. Mahendro explained that public enthusiasm for the 30% train fare discount during the school holidays continues to show a positive trend. Based on data as of 14 June 2026, a total of 30,453 customers have utilised the discount programme for journeys departing between 20 June and 5 July 2026 within the KAI Daop 8 Surabaya area. KAI Daop 8 Surabaya urges those who have not yet planned their trips to book immediately, as discounted ticket availability is limited and will continue to decrease with rising demand during the holiday season. The 30% discount applies to Commercial Economy class train journeys with departure dates from 20 June to 5 July 2026. Tickets at the discounted rate can be booked starting from 6 June 2026 through all official KAI sales channels. Terms and conditions for the programme include that ticket purchases with the discounted fare can be made through all official KAI sales channels from 6 June 2026. The discounted fare is valid for departures from 20 June to 5 July 2026, applies specifically to Commercial Economy class trains, cannot be applied to special fares, and cannot be combined with other reductions or discounts. Discounted tickets can be cancelled and rescheduled according to applicable regulations. Travel schedules and the list of trains can be viewed through the Access by KAI application, and the programme is valid as long as ticket allocations and discounted fares remain available. “KAI is committed to providing safe, comfortable, secure, and punctual transportation services.
