3 Million Homes Programme to Boost Human Resource Quality
The Honorary Council of the Union of Indonesian Christian Intellectuals (PIKI), Hashim Djojohadikusumo, who is also the brother of President Prabowo Subianto, affirmed that the programme to build 3 million homes for the people is a major strategy in the national transformation carried by the administration of President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka.
The development of decent housing is regarded as the primary foundation for improving the quality of human resources to achieve the Golden Indonesia 2045 vision.
He made these remarks while attending the Health Sovereignty Declaration, organised by PIKI, in Bandung on Wednesday (15 July). He explained that development cannot focus on a single sector alone.
According to him, human health depends greatly on the quality of the living environment. “This national transformation consists of several elements, namely health, housing, and the environment. Because human health depends on the environment as well. There is clean water and decent housing,” he said.
Hashim stressed that the provision of decent housing, combined with access to quality healthcare and education, is an absolute prerequisite for creating a superior generation in the future. These three elements form an inseparable whole in the government’s efforts to raise the standard of living of the Indonesian people.
“All of this is to create and make our people superior by 2045. Our goal is a Golden Indonesia with superior human beings. That means good health, good housing, and good education,” he added.
On that occasion, Hashim also touched on the importance of improving nutrition through the free nutritious meals (MBG) programme as part of health intervention. He presented data on the high number of schoolchildren who do not have breakfast, as well as the prevalence of stunting in the country, which must be resolved urgently.
He assured that the current administration has a strong commitment to making improvements across various sectors. “We will fix the things that are not good, especially health,” he said.
