SINGAPORE: Authorities were searching for three Indonesian crew
members missing after their wooden boat caught fire near
Singapore's east coast on Friday.
Ten other crew members on the boat, the Jambi Jaya, were
rescued after the fire started, a statement from the Maritime and
Port Authority said. Some had suffered burns and were being
treated in hospital.
The 45-meter-long craft caught fire about 4 kilometers
southeast of Singapore. Patrol vessels were deployed to the area
to search for the missing three crew members.
After the fire was put out, the vessel was anchored in shallow
waters before it later sank. -- AP
