3,200 Vehicles Enter Puncak Bogor in One Hour, One-Way System Implemented
Police have implemented a one-way traffic engineering system on Jalan Raya Puncak in Bogor, West Java. The one-way system is applied from the direction of Jakarta towards Puncak.
The Head of Traffic Police at Bogor Police Resort, Iptu Afif Widhi Ananto, stated that the one-way system has been in place since this morning. It was introduced due to an increase in vehicles from the direction of Jakarta.
“This morning, starting from 07:30 WIB, we have implemented traffic flow engineering in the form of a one-way system, prioritising the direction from Jakarta to Puncak, considering the increased volume of vehicles heading to Puncak,” said Afif on Sunday (22/3/2026).
A total of 3,200 vehicles were recorded passing towards Puncak in one hour. The vehicles were recorded entering through the Ciawi Toll Gate.
“Between 07:00 and 08:00 WIB, 3,200 vehicles were recorded crossing the Ciawi Toll Gate towards Puncak,” he explained.
Afif explained that the one-way system is implemented situationally. If the vehicle volume decreases and returns to normal, the one-way system will be stopped.
“The implementation of the one-way system is situational. We monitor the volume of traffic flow from Jakarta to Puncak, and if there is a reversal in vehicle volume from Puncak to Jakarta, we will reverse the one-way system from Puncak to Jakarta. However, its application is situational,” he clarified.
Meanwhile, observations at the Gadog Intersection showed congestion leading to vehicle queues. Vehicles could only travel at less than 20 km/h.
