A total of 3,068 personnel have been deployed by Operation Ketupat Turangga 2026 to secure Eid al-Fitr 1447 AH celebrations in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) from 13-25 March 2026. The personnel comprise 1,144 members of the National Police and 1,924 personnel from related agencies.

“We are deploying full strength in cooperation with several relevant agencies during Operation Ketupat Turangga 2026,” said Head of Public Relations at NTT Police Headquarters, Senior Commissioner Henry Novika Chandra, following the operation briefing at NTT Police Headquarters on Thursday (12 March 2026).

NTT Police has established 91 service posts, 38 security posts, 27 integrated service posts, and 20 other posts securing vital facilities including 14 airports, 38 ports, 28 terminals, 58 shopping centres, and 153 tourist sites.

Additionally, 201 mosques estimated to accommodate 91,386 worshippers and 46 prayer grounds estimated to accommodate 123,600 worshippers are being secured. Chandra emphasised that NTT Police prioritises early detection to prevent crime and other offences during the operation.

“In this operation, we are implementing detection, preventive, and precautionary measures to anticipate conventional crimes such as street brawls and illegal racing. We will take firm but humane action against these,” Chandra explained.

According to Chandra, National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo noted that geopolitical tensions between the Middle East, Israel, and the United States also impact Indonesia, including potential fuel and energy supply shortages.

“These issues must be anticipated so that through Operation Ketupat Turangga 2026, the public can conduct homecoming travel and religious observance safely and peacefully,” Chandra stated.

Chandra expressed hope that the public will celebrate Eid al-Fitr 2026 and conduct homecoming travel safely, comfortably, and peacefully without significant disruption.
