Bandung — The West Java Hajj and Umrah Office has revealed that about 3,000 Umrah pilgrims from West Java are still in Saudi Arabia. The pilgrims are continuing their rites in the Holy Sites amid the ongoing US–Israel–Iran tensions.

“There are around 3,000 West Java pilgrims who are indeed still performing Umrah in the Holy Sites at present. That is information from the central authorities that we have received,” said Boy Hary Novian, head of the West Java Hajj and Umrah Regional Office, when contacted by reporters on Tuesday (3 March 2026).

He added that the activities of the Umrah pilgrims in Saudi Arabia are proceeding smoothly, including at the airports. He said the pilgrims will return using Saudi Airlines, Lion Air, and Garuda Indonesia.

“Yes, Saudi Airlines, then Lion Air, Garuda, there is no problem; they can still travel or use flight routes as usual,” he said.
