293 Families in Bogor Affected by Drought, BPBD Distributes 10,000 Litres of Clean Water

Hundreds of families in Kalongliud Village, Nanggung District, Bogor, West Java, have been affected by drought. The cause is the diminishing water sources for residents due to the dry season.

“Due to the decreasing rainfall intensity in the area, residents’ water sources have diminished and they are struggling to meet their clean water needs,” said the Head of Emergency and Logistics at the Bogor Regency BPBD, M Adam Hamdani, on Tuesday (14/7/2026).

Adam stated that two hamlets in the village were reported to be affected by drought. In Bongas Hamlet, 188 families have been impacted by the drought.

“In Babakan Liud Hamlet, RT 02/10, 50 families (161 individuals) and RT 03/10, 55 families (177 individuals) have been affected,” he said.

Based on the results of an on-site inspection by officers, Adam said the water in the two hamlets had dried up. Residents have been forced to seek water sources from nearby neighbours.

“The field analysis for the Kalongliud village area shows the water has dried up and almost all residents’ wells have run dry, so residents must look for water sources from surrounding neighbours,” he explained.

Residents subsequently requested assistance with clean water delivery from BPBD officers. Upon receiving the residents’ report, officers distributed 10,000 litres of clean water for initial handling.

“For the time being, the clean water needs have been distributed to the communities in need,” he said.
