29 fire engines deployed to extinguish house fire in Paseban
A total of 29 fire engines with 145 personnel were deployed to handle a house fire on Jalan Kramat Sawah RT 008/RW 007, Paseban Urban Village, Senen District, Central Jakarta, on Thursday evening.
Head of the Jakarta Fire and Rescue Service (Gulkarmat), Bayu Meghantara, said the fire report was received by officers at 20.00 WIB from a member of the public who came to report it.
“Officers received the fire report at 20.00 WIB and arrived at the scene at 20.05 WIB. Firefighting operations began at 20.06 WIB,” Bayu said in Jakarta on Thursday.
He said officers managed to localise the fire at 21.09 WIB, preventing it from spreading further to buildings around the site.
A total of 29 units were deployed in the operation, consisting of 25 units from Central Jakarta, two units from East Jakarta and two units from other sectors, with a total of 145 personnel.
He said the object that caught fire was a residential house in the form of a low-rise building.
As of the latest information received, officers were still carrying out extinguishing and cooling operations at the scene.
“The fire has been localised and the handling process is still ongoing,” he said.
The Jakarta Gulkarmat Service has not been able to confirm the cause of the fire as officers are still handling the scene.
There were no reports of casualties in the incident as of the time this report was written.
The Jakarta Gulkarmat Service urged the public to report fire incidents immediately through the official fire service information channels so that handling can be carried out as quickly as possible.
