29 Days to MotoGP Mandalika, Ticket Sales Reach 51 Per Cent
Ticket sales for the 2026 MotoGP Mandalika at the Mandalika Circuit, Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), have reached 51 per cent. This figure was recorded with only 29 days remaining until the event.
General Manager of The Mandalika, I Made Pari Wijaya, stated that ticket sales are expected to continue climbing as the MotoGP Mandalika, scheduled for 9-11 October 2026, approaches.
“From our coordination with the ticketing team, 51 per cent has been sold so far. We certainly hope this sales increase will continue over the next 29 days. Typically, based on previous trends, the graph surges closer to the event date,” Pari said at the West Nusa Tenggara Governor’s Office on Thursday (10/9/2026).
Pari noted that the sold tickets vary across categories, ranging from discounted tickets to premium classes. However, the detailed breakdown of purchase data is still being finalised by the internal team.
“It is certainly varied; we will provide the details later. We will present the full ticket update there. We will re-check the percentages and total numbers,” he added.
Some MotoGP tickets have reportedly been placed in a ‘locked’ status, causing concern and disrupting the public purchase process. According to Pari, this is part of the technical procedures and coordination by the internal MotoGP organising committee.
“We have prepared for this; there will be further meetings and specific updates from the ticketing team. Our entire team has a plan in place. This is part of the coordination and timing preparations with the committee,” he explained.
Despite this, the MotoGP organisers remain optimistic that the 100 per cent sales target will be achieved by the event date. In addition to infrastructure readiness, public enthusiasm is expected to rise due to the participation of two Indonesian riders.
“Firstly, we have sufficient time. Secondly, we have our Indonesian local heroes, Mario Aji and Ega Pratama, who are performing exceptionally well. We hope this will further boost our ticket sales graph,” said Pari.
Meanwhile, the impact of the MotoGP event is already being felt in the tourism and accommodation sectors around the Mandalika Special Economic Zone (SEZ). Based on interactions with local businesses around Mandalika, hotel and homestay booking rates have shown a drastic increase.
“From our discussions with business owners, some hotels have already reached 100 per cent occupancy, while others are at 90 per cent. We hope this continues to increase in the remaining 29 days,” Pari claimed.
He further revealed that bookings for homestays around Mandalika are also rising, with many bookings coming in. Local homestay owners are even enthusiastically increasing their room capacities.
Regarding the frequent complaints about surging accommodation prices in the Mandalika area, ITDC emphasised the importance of maintaining reasonable rates to ensure they remain competitive for tourists.
“We all hope these prices remain competitive. Based on experience from previous events, we believe that as the number of rooms increases in the Mandalika SEZ, West Nusa Tenggara, and the surrounding Lombok area, this will help balance the demand for hotel rooms ahead of MotoGP,” he concluded.
