280,000 Train Passengers from Jakarta Utilise 30% Fare Discount
PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) Daop 1 Jakarta recorded around 280,000 train passengers from Jakarta utilising the 30% fare discount for the period of 14-29 March 2026 during the 2026 Lebaran transportation period. “Specifically for Daop 1 Jakarta, there are 329,000 economy class commercial seats available. The remaining economy class commercial seats are 49,000,” said Manager of Public Relations for PT KAI Regional Operations (Daop) 1 Jakarta, Franoto Wibowo, in Jakarta on Thursday. Nationally, this discount programme provides a total of 1.2 million seats specifically for economy class commercial. Meanwhile, this morning, 52,330 passengers departed from stations in the Daop 1 Jakarta region. The number of arriving or incoming passengers reached 27,741 people. The highest departures were recorded at Stasiun Cikarang (3,285 passengers), Stasiun Jatinegara (1,697 passengers), and Stasiun Karawang (1,204 passengers). For arrivals, the highest was also recorded at Stasiun Pasar Senen, with 10,014 passengers, followed by Stasiun Gambir with 7,634 passengers, Stasiun Bekasi (4,031 passengers), Stasiun Cikampek (910 passengers), and other stations such as Cikarang, Jatinegara, and Karawang. KAI Daop 1 Jakarta provides a total capacity of 1,083,623 train seats. A total of 756,929 tickets have been sold for the period of 11 March to 1 April 2026. KAI Daop 1 Jakarta operates 68 regular long-distance train services per day, 12 additional trains from Stasiun Gambir, seven additional trains from Stasiun Pasar Senen, and four free Motor Trains. Popular trains from Stasiun Gambir include Pandalungan, Argo Semeru, Gunungjati, Cakrabuana, Pangandaran, and Batavia. Meanwhile, from Stasiun Pasar Senen, the most sought-after trains are Bengawan, Airlangga, Serayu, Kertajaya, Jayakarta, and Progo.
