2,700 to secure 1997 election

BANDAR LAMPUNG, Lampung: The local chapter of the United
Development Party has assigned over 2,700 of its members to help
the government run the 1997 election.

Chief of the party's provincial chapter, Sadeki Yakub, said
the move is not to compete with the government's security force
but to help it.

He said their members will be stationed at all administrative
levels in the province, Antara reported. (pan)
