270 Honda Prelude Units Booked in Indonesia as Distribution Begins in May 2026
The arrival of the coupe-styled sportscar Honda Prelude, imported directly from Japan, has captured the attention of performance car enthusiasts in Indonesia. This is evidenced by pre-orders reaching 270 units ahead of the first deliveries scheduled for May 2026.
“We can report that Honda Prelude has already recorded 270 bookings, and we will commence first deliveries in May 2026,” said Yusak Billy, Sales, Marketing and After-Sales Director of PT Honda Prospect Motor (HPM), in Jakarta on Tuesday, 3 March 2026.
“Actually, the allocation for Indonesia is 100 units this year, but we are coordinating by advancing the allocation from 2027 to 2026. Then (the quota) 2028 to 2027. But how many exactly is not yet known, though the principal is aware of our concern,” he said.
“We will see the details later. The important thing is that they are already concerned about the shortfall in the allocation,” he added.
Prelude orders were officially opened in mid-January 2026, with a price range of Rp 925 million to Rp 975 million. The car is imported fully built-up (CBU) from Japan.
The Prelude is Honda’s legendary sport coupe now equipped with hybrid technology. The car is positioned as a daily sportscar, combining performance, fuel efficiency, and everyday usability.
In terms of styling, the Prelude features a low stance with smooth flowing lines. Inside, the sporty mood is complemented by a two-tone Blue & White colour scheme.
The sport coupe feel is enhanced by a D-shaped steering wheel, metal paddle shifters, and an exclusive full-graphics instrument cluster.
For entertainment, a 9-inch touchscreen is integrated with Honda Connect based on Google built‑in, including Maps, Play, and Assistant.
Under the bonnet, the All-New Prelude relies on the Honda e:HEV hybrid system, paired with Honda S+ Shift. This technology delivers the sensation of an eight-speed gear shift although the primary power source comes from electric motors. Honda also includes Active Sound Control to tune engine noise to RPM and Coasting Control to deliver a glide-like sensation.
For performance, the Prelude is equipped with a 2.0-litre inline-4 petrol engine paired with the Honda e:HEV Strong Hybrid System. The petrol engine produces 137 hp, while the electric motor adds 181 hp. The total system output is claimed to be around 200 hp.
