27 Train Services in Daop 3 Cirebon Cancelled
PT KAI Daerah Operasi (Daop) 3 Cirebon’s Public Relations Manager, Muhibbuddin, explained that 27 train services passing through Cirebon have been forced to cancel their journeys. The cancellations occurred from the night of the incident until today. “Last night, 10 trains were cancelled. Today, there are another 17 trains cancelled. So in total, there are 27 train services cancelled in the Daop 3 Cirebon area,” said Muhibbuddin on Tuesday, 28 April 2026. In addition to cancellations, several operating train services have also experienced significant delays due to the collision incident. “The trains that are still running are experiencing quite significant delays. This is the impact of the incident in East Bekasi,” said Muhibbuddin. He added that after the accident, the rail tracks were temporarily impassable. However, around 01:00 WIB in the early hours, the downstream track was back in use, albeit only one track, resulting in queues of services. “Around 1 a.m., the downstream track could be passed on one track. However, the queue is still quite long, so it impacts the delays,” he said. PT KAI Daop 3 Cirebon has also sent assistance for the evacuation process of the train involved in the accident. “Daop 3 Cirebon is sending assistance in the form of one crane unit along with nine crew members, including drivers and assistant drivers,” said Muhibbuddin. The heavy equipment and crew are sent to help with the evacuation process and repairs to infrastructure. When asked about ticket cancellations, Muhibbuddin explained that by this morning, 105 tickets had been cancelled. “We are providing full refunds,” he said. Additionally, 36 passengers have had their journeys rerouted, specifically passengers on the KA Gunung Jati to Gambir who were redirected to the KA Dharmawangsa and Blambangan Express to Pasar Senen. “To date, we are still compiling data on the total number of affected passengers, which we will provide further,” said Muhibbuddin. Previously, it was reported that an accident occurred between a long-distance train and a KRL at East Bekasi Station on Monday night, 27 April 2026. The incident, which happened around 20:50 WIB, was reported to have killed 14 people and injured dozens more.
