27 Nutrition Fulfilment Service Units in Banten Suspended, 700 Still Processing Hygiene Certificates

The Head of the Nutrition Fulfilment Service Unit (SPPG) for the Jakarta-Banten region, Ida Wahyuni, stated that 27 SPPGs in Banten have been frozen or suspended. Meanwhile, around 700 SPPGs are still processing or completing their Sertifikat Laik Higiene Sanitasi (SLHS), or Hygiene Sanitation Eligibility Certificates.

Ida reported that a total of 1,403 SPPGs have been established across Banten Province, serving 3,397,020 beneficiaries of the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme. The 27 suspended units are currently undergoing improvements. “Some have inadequate infrastructure, some have minor deficiencies, and some have major ones. But all are in the process of being rectified,” Ida said after meeting with Banten Governor Andra Soni in Serang City on Tuesday.

Ida noted that the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) is tightening supervision of all SPPGs to ensure that beneficiaries receive food in good condition. Of the 1,403 SPPGs, approximately 700 have met the SLHS requirements, while the remaining 700 are still in the process of compliance. “The SLHS figures were updated by the Health Office; around 700 have been fulfilled,” she said.

According to Ida, obtaining an SLHS requires SPPGs to meet various conditions, ranging from environmental standards to building permits. Additionally, workers must undergo technical guidance on food handling, personal hygiene, and environmental cleanliness.

Governor Andra Soni affirmed the Banten Provincial Government’s commitment to supporting the Free Nutritious Meals programme. “We fully support this programme. As regional leaders, we are focused on what we can contribute, not what we can gain,” he said. He stressed that the local government would carry out its coordination, facilitation, and supervisory functions without interfering in the programme’s operational aspects.
