Jakarta (ANTARA) - A total of 264 students from SMA Negeri 84 in West Jakarta took part in the “Palace for School Children” programme at the Presidential Palace complex in Jakarta on Tuesday. According to a statement from the Cabinet Secretariat quoted on Tuesday, the programme is part of efforts to cultivate the younger generation’s understanding of the nation’s history and Indonesia’s government system. The students and teachers engaged in a series of activities held in the Hoegeng Hall of the Cabinet Secretariat Building. The event began at 09:00 WIB with a presentation session on the role of government and the importance of understanding public policy from a school-age perspective. The atmosphere of the event was interactive, with participants showing enthusiasm in following the material and engaging in discussions throughout the session. After the presentation, participants proceeded with a tour of the Presidential Palace starting at 10:00 WIB. Through this activity, the students had the opportunity to directly observe the palace environment, learn about the functions of the presidential institution, and understand the historical values embedded in the area. The students are expected to expand their national insights, comprehend the workings of government processes, and be motivated to contribute to Indonesia’s future. This educational programme is planned to continue involving various other educational institutions to foster nationalism from an early age.
