JAKARTA — The Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) recorded 26 RTs in the capital flooded due to heavy rain affecting Jakarta and surrounding areas since Sunday (24 May 2026).

Head of Operations (Kalak) Marulitua Sijabat stated the data was updated as of Monday (25 May 2026) at 8:00 AM.

‘The BPBD recorded 26 flooded RTs,’ he said in an official statement on Monday morning.

Breakdown shows 16 RTs in Kampung Melayu village, seven in Cawang, one in Cililitan, and two in Bidara Cina.

The average flood depth was not specified.

Meanwhile, flooding in three RTs in Pejaten Timur village has receded.

The BPBD explained the flooding was triggered by heavy rain in Jakarta and surrounding areas on Sunday (24 May 2026).

High rainfall caused increased water levels at several water gates and monitoring posts.

‘The Jakarta BPBD has deployed personnel to monitor flooding across all areas and coordinate with the Water Resources, Public Works, and Fire Departments to pump out water and ensure drainage systems are functioning properly,’ said Yohan.

The Jakarta BPBD urges residents to remain cautious and vigilant about potential flooding. In emergencies, contact 112 immediately; this service is free and operates 24/7.
