256,000 Vehicles Cross Toll Roads During Peak Return Flow, Lower Than Predicted
BEKASI, KOMPAS.com – The number of vehicles in the Lebaran 2026 return flow that passed through toll roads reached 256,338 units at its peak on Tuesday (24/3/2026). This figure is lower than the initial prediction, which estimated vehicle volume up to 285,000 units. PT Jasa Marga’s President Director, Rivan A. Purwantono, stated that this achievement demonstrates that traffic engineering during the return flow period was effective in maintaining smooth travel. “This means the traffic management controls implemented could provide comfort for the public to return to their cities and respective areas properly,” Rivan said when met at the Jasa Marga Toll Road Command Centre on Wednesday (25/3/2026). Rivan also urged the public to take advantage of the toll fee discount policy applicable on 26–27 March 2026 to avoid density during the continued return flow peak. “So that density is no longer necessary on 28 and 29 March,” Rivan said. Furthermore, he emphasised the importance of travel planning by utilising the information and predictions provided by relevant parties. “So that the public can determine the right time to depart and return safely,” he stated. “From H-8 to H+3, there was an increase of 4.07 percent,” said Dudy. In addition, the movement of public transport passenger departures during the same period also increased by 11.11 percent. “The movement of passenger departures is 11.11 percent. This figure is still dynamic because we are calculating up to 29 March,” he said. The Ministry of Transportation predicts that the peak return flow will still occur on 28–29 March 2026.
