Malang, VIVA – Amid the Eid homecoming rush and holidays in 2026, the Malang City Police Resort has introduced a digital innovation in the form of a microsite that allows the public to monitor real-time traffic conditions. This microsite is linked to 252 CCTV points spread throughout the Malang City area, providing practical information for local residents, homecomers, tourists, and visitors.

The Malang City Police Chief, Senior Commissioner Putu Kholis Aryana, explained that this service was created to make it easier for the public to access traffic information, ensuring smooth mobility during the Eid holidays.

“We are utilising this microsite service to assist the public who are mobile in Malang City during the 2026 Eid holiday period,” said Putu in his statement on Friday, 20 March 2026.

The microsite can be accessed via the link s.id/Makota2026 using a smartphone. Thus, the public can obtain traffic information quickly and conveniently, anytime and anywhere.

Not only vehicle traffic conditions, but the microsite also displays the nearest public service locations, including hospitals, police stations, and other important points in Malang City.

According to Putu, a similar service was previously used during the peak event of the NU Centenary at Gajayana Stadium in Malang City. At that time, public participation through CCTV access played an important role in maintaining smooth traffic flow until the event concluded.

“Previously, we provided this service during the peak event of the NU Centenary at Gajayana Stadium in Malang City, and the result was that the public provided extraordinary contributions to the smoothness of the event and the flow of congregation traffic until the event ended,” he explained.

The implementation of this technology is expected to increase public comfort and safety during the Eid holidays. By knowing real-time traffic conditions, the public can plan travel times, avoid congestion, and choose alternative routes if necessary.

In addition, information on public facility locations also helps homecomers and tourists who need emergency or important services in Malang City.

“We hope this service provides easy access to traffic information for all people in Malang City, including some information on nearby public services such as hospital locations, police stations, and other important locations,” he concluded.
