250 Invited Guests Attend Nuzulul Quran Commemoration at State Palace

President Prabowo Subianto held the State-Level Nuzulul Quran Commemoration for 1447 Hijriah/2026 at the State Palace on Tuesday evening. The event, attended by approximately 250 invited guests, commenced at 19:30 Western Indonesian Time, marked by the arrival of guests at the Presidential Palace complex in Jakarta.

Islamic scholar and former Minister of Religious Affairs M. Quraish Shihab, who arrived at the Presidential Palace complex at 19:00 WIB, stated that the Nuzulul Quran activity was hoped to convey a message of peace. “I am attending Nuzulul Quran tonight for peace,” he said when asked about his attendance.

President Prabowo, accompanied by Vice President Gibran Rakabuming, was scheduled to arrive at the venue around 20:00 WIB and was greeted by state officials and community leaders present.

The ceremony opened with remarks from a presidential spokesperson, followed by the singing of the Indonesian national anthem, Indonesia Raya. This was followed by Quranic recitation from Surah Al-Hasyr, performed by M. Zian Fahrezi, first-place winner of the 3rd International Musabaqah Tilawatil Qur’an (MTQ) Al-Ameed held in Karbala, Iraq, in 2026. The recitation was accompanied by saritilawah by Velly Syukron from RRI Jakarta.

Minister of Religious Affairs Nasaruddin Umar then presented a report on the organisation of this year’s state-level Nuzulul Quran commemoration. The event continued with an explanation of the wisdom of Nuzulul Quran delivered by Islamic scholar and thinker Muhammad Quraish Shihab, concluding with collective prayer.

The highlight of the Nuzulul Quran event was marked by President Prabowo Subianto’s presidential address.

The state-level Nuzulul Quran commemoration was attended by leaders of state institutions, including MPR Chair Ahmad Muzani, DPR Chair Puan Maharani, DPD Chair Sultan Bachtiar Najamudin, and Deputy DPR Chair Sufmi Dasco Ahmad. Leaders of the election administration bodies also attended, including KPU Chair Mochammad Afifuddin and Bawaslu Chair Rahmat Bagja.

In attendance were also cabinet ministers and agency heads, KPK Chair Setyo Budiyanto, deputy ministers, the President’s Special Advisor for Hajj Affairs Muhadjir Effendy, and Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung. The event was also attended by representatives of Islamic community organisations, religious leaders, representatives of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, and dozens of orphans specially invited to participate in this year’s Nuzulul Quran commemoration.

The entire ceremony proceeded solemnly and concluded around 21:00 WIB, after the President and Vice President departed from the venue.
