25 Long-Distance Trains Cancelled Due to KRL and Argo Bromo Anggrek Train Accident
As many as 25 long-distance trains (KAJJ) were cancelled following the accident involving a KRL and the Argo Bromo Anggrek train at Bekasi Timur Station in West Java on Monday night (27/4/2026). Vice President of Corporate Communication at KAI, Anne Purba, extended condolences and apologies to all affected customers. According to Anne, KAI is providing a full ticket refund policy for impacted passengers, with the refund process available for up to seven days. Furthermore, all long-distance train services from Gambir and Pasar Senen Stations have been temporarily suspended to support the handling process and ensure travel safety. The accident response is focused on the affected KRL passengers. Based on preliminary data updates until 02:00 WIB, four people have died, and 79 others have been injured. All victims have been evacuated and are receiving treatment at several referral hospitals. The handling is being carried out at several healthcare facilities, including RSUD Bekasi, RS Bella Bekasi, RS Primaya, RS Mitra Plumbon Cibitung, RS Bakti Kartini, RS Siloam Bekasi Timur, RS Hermina, as well as RS Mitra Keluarga Bekasi Timur and Barat. In the handling process, KAI, along with Basarnas, TNI, Polri, and medical teams, moved quickly to provide assistance and ensure all victims receive treatment as soon as possible. KAI President Director Bobby Rasyidin stated that all victims have received medical treatment, and the evacuation process is being maximised. “We have taken all victims to hospitals to receive the best treatment. We continue to carry out evacuations and ensure all victims get help as quickly as possible,” said Bobby. He added that KAI is submitting the investigation process to the KNKT to ensure the cause of the incident can be thoroughly identified.
