23rd China-ASEAN Expo Enters Final Preparation Phase in Nanning
The 23rd China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) is scheduled to be held in Nanning, the capital of south China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, from 17 to 21 September, with all preparations now entering the final stage. Data shows that 40 Indonesian companies are on the first wave list of firms that have confirmed their participation. A diverse range of high-value products will be showcased across the ASEAN zones. Beyond traditional consumer goods, participating nations will also exhibit cutting-edge products in artificial intelligence (AI), green energy, and other high-tech fields. According to the expo’s secretariat, this year’s event features an upgraded ASEAN exhibition zone spanning approximately 20,000 square metres, accompanied by a comprehensive enhancement in the structure of exhibited products, the scale of participating countries, and the level of industrial cooperation, highlighting new achievements in China-ASEAN economic and trade cooperation. Timor-Leste will appear for the first time in the expo’s commodity pavilion as an official ASEAN member state, further strengthening its integration into the ASEAN community. As the themed country, the Philippines has registered 44 companies covering the food, household goods, personal care, tourism, and financial services sectors. Notably, a Philippine AI startup will make its debut at the event, underscoring the expo’s focus on AI. This year marks the fifth anniversary of the China-ASEAN Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. Economic and trade relations continue to show positive momentum following the official signing of the China-ASEAN Free Trade Area (CAFTA) 3.0 Upgrade Protocol, with bilateral trade volume expected to exceed 1 trillion US dollars in 2025. China and ASEAN have remained each other’s largest trading partners for six consecutive years.
