A total of 234 motorcycles were impounded during an illegal parking enforcement operation (OCP) in the Sentra Primer Barat (SPB) area of Kembangan Selatan, Kembangan District, on Thursday. The operation targeted vehicles parked haphazardly on pavements and road shoulders along several streets, including Jalan Puri Indah Raya, Jalan Puri Harum, and Jalan Puri Ayu.

Agus Prasetyo, Head of Operations for the West Jakarta Transportation Agency (Sudishub), stated that the crackdown was a follow-up to directives from the Governor of Jakarta, Pramono Anung, and the Head of the Jakarta Transportation Agency to conduct sustained enforcement against illegal parking. “We plan to carry this out in various locations. Today’s target was the CNI Kembangan area,” he said.

In addition to illegally parked vehicles, the operation also targeted street vendors occupying pavements. Agus noted that such violations not only breach regulations but also harm the public by causing traffic congestion and disrupting pedestrian comfort. He emphasised that enforcement would be intensified and urged commercial areas to provide adequate parking facilities to prevent vehicles from spilling onto public roads. He added that illegal parking in the SPB Kembangan or CNI area has been repeatedly addressed but often recurs, calling on building managers to facilitate proper parking for employees and visitors.
