231,357 Eid Train Tickets Sold by KAI Daop 6

Yogyakarta (ANTARA) - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) Operational Area (Daop) 6 Yogyakarta recorded that as of February 26, 2026, at 12:00 WIB, the number of long-distance train tickets sold by KAI Daop 6 Yogyakarta reached 231,357 tickets, or 44 percent of the total capacity provided.

“Based on the booking trend for KAI Daop 6’s early departure trains, the highest number of long-distance train tickets sold so far occurred on H+3 of Eid al-Fitr, or Tuesday, March 24, 2026,” said the Public Relations Manager of KAI Daop 6 Yogyakarta, Feni Novida Saragih, in Yogyakarta, Thursday.

According to her, on that date, the number of tickets sold reached 21,217 tickets in one day.

“This figure has the potential to increase considering that the ticket booking process is still ongoing,” she said.

She said that during the Eid al-Fitr transportation period, which will last for 22 days, from March 11 to April 1, 2026, KAI Daop 6 Yogyakarta provides a transportation capacity of up to 525,350 seats for long-distance trains departing from Daop 6.

“During the 2026 Eid al-Fitr transportation period, there are 12 additional trains departing from KAI Daop 6 stations. The number of additional trains includes 10 additional long-distance trains and 2 Motis trains,” she said.

Feni said that KAI Daop 6 Yogyakarta appealed to the public who want to travel during Eid using trains to immediately plan their trip and book tickets so as not to run out.

“Customers who have not received tickets on their desired departure date should consider alternative travel schedules to increase their chances of getting tickets. Customers can use the”connecting train” feature on the Access by KAI application,” she said.
