REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, CIREBON – The Cirebon Regency Government, through the Department of Public Works and Spatial Planning (DPUTR), is accelerating infrastructure development. As many as 23 road sections in various regions are scheduled for repair after being included in the early tender process for the 2026 Fiscal Year.

This acceleration of the tender process is intended to ensure that physical work can begin promptly, allowing communities to benefit more quickly from improved road infrastructure. The program is also part of the target to improve the condition of roads in Cirebon Regency.

Head of DPUTR Cirebon Regency, Sunanto, said that the level of road maintenance in Cirebon Regency at the end of 2025 had reached around 86 percent. He revealed that the local government is targeting fully maintained road conditions in Cirebon Regency to be achieved by 2029.

“The Cirebon Regency Government continues to encourage the acceleration of infrastructure development between regions and support community economic activities,” he said, yesterday.

The length of the road sections to be repaired varies, ranging from 175 meters to more than one kilometer, with a width of between 3.5 meters and six meters.

The majority of the work will use concrete construction to increase the strength and durability of the roads. Sunanto added that in addition to relying on the Cirebon Regency Regional Budget (APBD), the Cirebon Regency Government is also seeking budget support from the West Java Provincial Government.

“In 2026, there are three regency road sections planned to receive assistance for repair from the provincial government,” he explained. Previously, several road sections in the Pasaleman, Ciledug, Tonjong-Luwiasem, Kramat, Cisaat, Mandala and Pasawahan areas had received development support from the West Java Provincial Government. “Currently, it is still in the process of detailed engineering design (DED) assistance. Hopefully, it can be realized as with previous provincial government assistance,” he said.
