23 officers promoted

JAKARTA: Indonesian Military (TNI) chief Gen. Endriartono Sutarto confirmed on Tuesday that 23 of his officers had received promotions, including chief of the Army Training School Lt. Gen. Cornel Simbolon and Vice Marshal Iman Wahyudi.

Endriartono told the newly promoted officers to develop themselves and work to improve their moral qualities and professionalism.

He did not say why they received promotions.

The TNI chief also commended Indonesian military officers and their counterparts from other countries for working together well when helping victims of the December tsunami disaster in Aceh and North Sumatra.
