23,000 Notaries Utilise Facial Verification to Access AHU Services
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Law (Kemenkum) has noted that approximately 23,000 out of 26,000 notaries in Indonesia have updated their accounts using facial verification to ensure that General Legal Administration (AHU) services are accessed only by the authorised notaries.
The Director General of General Legal Administration at the Ministry of Law, Widodo, stated that strengthening access security is part of the digital transformation of AHU services.
“Out of approximately 26,000 notaries in Indonesia, about 23,000 have completed account updates. The goal is to ensure that services are truly accessed by the respective notaries, rather than by staff, children, or other parties,” Widodo said in a statement confirmed in Jakarta on Tuesday.
These remarks were made by Widodo during the opening of the AHU Service Utilisation Socialisation in Palembang, South Sumatra, on Monday (21/9).
In addition to facial verification, the Directorate General of AHU is preparing geotagging technology to support the monitoring of service access based on location.
The Directorate General of AHU is also independently developing Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology to accelerate the data verification process, particularly regarding business entity services.
Widodo stated that the development of this technology is being conducted with security and data confidentiality as the top priorities.
“We are building our own AI, rather than renting or using third-party facilities. This is essential so that we can truly maintain the security of our data and systems,” he said.
According to Widodo, these various improvements are part of an effort to provide AHU services that are increasingly easy, secure, accountable, and adaptive to user needs.
“From time to time, we continue to undergo changes and improvements. What the public pays to the state is then reinvested to deliver various service transformations,” he added.
Currently, more than 156 services have been integrated into the AHU SuperApp, covering services for business entities and corporations, citizenship, central and international legal authorities, and apostille.
The socialisation in Palembang is part of a series of efforts to strengthen the utilisation of AHU services among notaries in various regions.
The Directorate General of AHU also continues to gather feedback from users to refine the service system.
