222 MBG Kitchens Completed, Asset Transfer to the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) Underway
Minister of Public Works (PU) Dody Hanggodo said the construction of 222 Nutrition Service Units (SPPG), or Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) kitchens, has been completed across Indonesia. The buildings’ assets are currently undergoing transfer from the Ministry of Public Works to the National Nutrition Agency (BGN). ‘Praise be to God, it is finished. There are 222 across Indonesia,’ Dody said during a media briefing at the Ministry of Public Works office in Jakarta on Friday, 22 May 2026. He explained that the SPPG buildings were built in two sizes: 10x20 metres and 20x20 metres. The size is determined based on the service capacity that will be provided to communities around the location. Meanwhile, construction sites were determined jointly by the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri), BGN, and the Ministry of Public Works. ‘BGN will determine whether the buildings are 10x20 or 20x20 based on the services to be provided by these SPPGs,’ he said. Dody noted that all construction has been completed and the government is now awaiting directions from President Prabowo Subianto regarding the inauguration of the facilities. He added that the asset transfer from the Ministry of Public Works to BGN is currently being processed at the Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu).
