The Depok City Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) has cleared 220 illegal buildings and street vendors on Jalan Raya Keadilan, Pancoran Mas, Depok. The enforcement action was undertaken as part of an initiative to redevelop and organise the area.

The operation took place on Thursday (10/09/2026). Some of these structures were built on riverbanks and land owned by the Depok City Government.

“This step is part of the enforcement of Depok City Regulation Number 5 of 2022, which was preceded by coaching and formal warnings,” according to information shared via the @pemkotdepok Instagram account on Friday (11/09/2026).

The enforcement was carried out to restore the function of the land, roads, and drainage channels. Additionally, it serves to support the urban planning of the region.

“A total of 220 buildings were cleared using heavy excavators, involving more than 200 personnel from a joint task force of Satpol PP, TNI, and Polri,” the statement noted.

Furthermore, the presence of these structures had caused blockages in drainage systems, as some buildings were constructed directly over or obstructing the channels. This enforcement is also part of a broader plan to reorganise the Pancoran Mas area.

This includes the widening of roads in the Rangkapan Jaya Baru sub-district to address and alleviate traffic congestion issues.
