22 Villages in Klungkung to Hold Simultaneous Village Head Elections This Year

The Klungkung Regency Government has begun conducting outreach regarding the 2026 Simultaneous Village Head Elections (Pilkel). As many as 22 villages in Klungkung will hold the Simultaneous Pilkel this year.

“Outreach is very crucial. We want the public not only to be voters but also to understand the process so that the implementation of this Pilkel is truly democratic,” said Klungkung Regent I Made Satria on Thursday (16/4/2026).

The Head of the Community and Village Empowerment Agency, Population Control and Family Planning (DPMDPPKB) of Klungkung, Ida Bagus Ketut Mas Ananda, explained that the minimum number of village head candidates is two people. If the minimum requirements are not met, registration will be extended twice.

“If after the extension the number of candidates still does not meet the minimum requirements, the election will be postponed until the issuance of the government regulation (PP) for the implementation of Law No. 3 of 2024,” Ananda clarified.

According to Ananda, the Simultaneous Pilkel in Klungkung is scheduled for 18 October. This year’s implementation is the fourth wave of Simultaneous Pilkel held in Klungkung. Previously, Simultaneous Pilkel in Klungkung was held in 2018, 2020, and 2021.

“We ask all parties to carry out the process in accordance with the established stages. With good cooperation between the government, security apparatus, and the community, we are optimistic that the 2026 Pilkel will run successfully and conducive,” he added.
