22 Percent of Eid Returnees' Vehicles Have Not Yet Returned to Jakarta as of Saturday

The Head of the Indonesian National Police Traffic Corps, Inspector General of Police Agus Suryonugroho, stated that as of Saturday (28/3), 22 percent of returnees’ vehicles have not yet returned to Jakarta during the Eid 2026 return flow period. “From traffic counting calculations, up to now it’s approximately around 22 percent. So, it’s likely that today in the late afternoon, there will be a surge in traffic,” he said at the Command Centre Post KM 29 of the Cikampek Toll Road, West Java, on Saturday. He also predicted that vehicle density would occur on Sunday (29/3), so the Traffic Corps of the Indonesian National Police is preparing a one-way traffic engineering scheme. Meanwhile, he continued, the number of vehicles that have not returned from the West Java direction was around 33-35 percent on Friday (27/3). To ease the density, functional toll roads were utilised. “We manage it well by using the functional Japek II South, which is quite strategic for splitting the flow from West Java towards Cikampek. We route them through Sadang to Setu. This is quite under control,” he said. “We will also monitor from the Trans-Sumatra route, Bakauheni, Merak to Cikupa, Jakarta,” he added. The Traffic Corps of the Indonesian National Police has prepared a one-way local traffic engineering scheme for stage three from KM 390 of the Batang-Kendal Toll to KM 70 of the Main Cikampek Toll to anticipate density.
